NZ Dairy Exporter has been named as a finalist for the 2021 Voyager Media awards for the Best Trade/Professional Magazine category.
The magazine, first published in 1925, is up against AirForce News and New Zealand Doctor magazines. The winners in all categories will be announced at the celebration event due to be held on Friday, May 28, 2021 (see the full list of finalists HERE).
NZ Dairy Exporter and its sister title, Country-Wide magazine – which is now more than 40 years old, are no strangers to winning awards since becoming owned by NZ Farm Life Media Limited in November 2016.
A team of Country-Wide journalists won the The Rongo Award in 2019 at the NZ Guild of Agri Journalists and Communicators Awards with Jackie Harrigan, Editor of NZ Dairy Exporter named as the runner up for the same award in 2020. Jackie also won the AgResearch Science Writers award in 2019 and the DairyNZ dairy sector writing award in both 2017 and 2018. At the 2019 awards, freelancer Anne Hardie won the Rural Women rural connectivity writing award. Senior agri-journalist Anne Lee, won two awards in 2020, the DairyNZ award for dairy writing and the Rural Women’s Award for articles about rural connectivity. In 2018 freelance photographer Emma McCarthy picked up The Federated Farmers Rural Photography Award, for a photo which appeared on the cover of NZ Dairy Exporter.
Both magazines have also featured as winners and runners up in the Magazine Media Awards with NZ Dairy Exporter winning Best cover, Industry and Trade and Best Trade/Specialist publication in the 2017 Canon Media Awards. Country-Wide won Best Cover, non-newsstand in the 2020 Webstar Magazine Media Awards. In 2019, NZ Dairy Exporter received a highly commended award for Best Trade Magazine.
